The Google Graveyard – RIP Great ideas

Google is always famous for dipping its toes to ‘Untapped but NEEDful’ type of products and revolutionizing the same. Their products were always compelling and mandated a lot of usage. It’s an undeniable fact that its Google that has revolutionized the way how mankind interprets Web so far right from September 4, 1998. Google’s impact has no word to describe as it is that massive and tremendous. Simply like how 75% of the Internet users use Google to ensure that the Net connection is ON. No Whiz or common man can even imagine a day without Google Search or Gmail or Android. But on the other side, Google itself is responsible for killing some great ideas that are missed today by the Web users of yesterday and today,. A user who started to user internet in 2000’s or just a lil pre to it would always feel nostalgic about the Google products like iGoogle, Google Labs, Google Pages, etc. There are products which were not much familiar but used: May it be GoogleBuzz or Google Dictionary or Picnik…

How would you feel if GTalk is wiped off completely instead of updating the GTalk to suit today’s trends? You should believe that it happened now.. GTalk is no more and has been replaced by Google hangouts. Its fanatic and also hard to believe that it has stopped those service instead of fueling them to match the trend Online. This style of murders had started only after the invasion of Facebook, Twitter and so-called Web 2.0 portals that started to make people stay online more they use to do on a Google’s home page. 

While surfing, i came across a nice and worth sharing picture and that inspired me to give ou this idea of what i felt so long on these murders 😉 This is So true. Even though this doesn’t make an impact of all the readers, i felt it important to be shared for those of you who had Google products to learn WHAT WEB IS… Have a look at it.. First SMART PHONE that is “Made in USA”

Ever since the Online giant GOOGLE bought Motorola, people started anticipating about the style of product that this partnership would unleash. Here is time to have a sneak-peek on how would the outcome look like…

Eric Schmidt, the Google chairman announced the new Motorola smartphones in Sept. 2012 in NYC which is the first product of the Google-Moto partnership. Two big giants get together to bring in a brand new product… Is that all or they do have some more elements that could make our eye brows go high? Presumably the answer would be YES for their individual standings so far in the global market. Not just presuming, we have a feature that is already listed by them. There is a long held rumour that Moto X would be a completely customizable smart phone for tomorrow. To be more detailed, a user can customize this product as much he/ she wants and could place an online order, just like your PC or Dell laptops.

“The first smartphone that you can design yourself,” the ad states. “Because today you should have the freedom to design the things in your life to be as unique as you are.” 

 Just like what they mean in the above Ad Campaign slogan, The user can define and choose the color, storage size, app mix, and other features. It would be a delight for Smart phone buyers if all these are true when the product comes into existence. After the Search giant’s acquisition on Moto, its The Droid Razr (HD, Maxx HD and M) only smartphone that has lined up so far. There are talks that the Google develops the Google Glass technology with the Hardware Technology backing from Motorola. However, its obviously a Delightful treat and Wonderful experience when such new line products start to enter markets and change the way how we look onto these devices. Let us wait and watch this space for what this Duo brings in future!

Dhoni – The Street-smart Cool Leader

Far aside from the Homeland or very well in the homegrounds, we have one coolest head under pressure which enables the Indian power to be be torched so high at the Global arena. Yes, We do have our MS Dhoni – the street-smart, calm and the best captain in world cricket right now.

Besides his Batting form, Wicket-Keeping style and all others, he has the best captaincy that defies the Crtics, Pressure and most importantly every opponent team that enters the cricket stadium to play against India. As he states that “Every game is important”, he not only carries the pressure of 11 players & BCCI. In that coolest head, he carries the pressure and faith of a billion Indians (Thats also a reason why it takes soooo much to be an Indian cricket captain).

Like ever before, Indian cricket team is now so young with its players (avrg age: 24) and stands the better side so far in the all limited over tournaments recent past. The titles that Dhoni & his men brough home are the best examples to justify the same. Eventhough these titles emphasize the power of our victory, its also how Dhoni’s men walked through the overall journey that started for Dhoni as just a Batsmen-WC player n Indian team. Its actually the SriLankan team which helped him prove as a good batsman as well as a good captain.

Dhoni’s 183 runs (his personal best in ODIs) against SriLanka in 2005 making India team win.

Dhoni lead India to win the World cup 2011 beating SriLanka in 2011.

 Undoubtedly, its Dhoni’s captaincy and his impeccable strategy that brings out the best from every young player in the team. Even in crucial times like  ICC Twenty20 world cup finals or in ICC Champions trophy finals, he was Compassionate to his team and made them so comforable in the grass. He has aggression but its in terms of his passion towards Cricket. When the Indian players see their captain so cool, they don;t go rattles. Instead, they focus and give their best. The case of experiment and risk taking was same in both cases – Joginder Sharma’s last ball at 2007 Twenty 20 world cup final, or his one down skip at ICC World cup 2011, or even the 18th over attack by Ishant Sharma. Best is the final one so far because as he lifted his head up and saw the ball go for a wide the second time once his hair cleared away from the front of his eyes, Sharma looked at Dhoni. Dhoni clapped and gestured at him ‘to keep calm and bowl the next one’, displaying no signs of anger or frustration at the bowler. On the next 2 balls, Ishant Sharma responded by sending  Eoin Morgan and Ravi Bopara back to the pavilion.

“We didn’t rely on one specific individual, everybody contributed. Each and every batsman scored at some point in the series and the same applies to the bowlers also.”

 As he says right, he does so. He does not any player to go frustrated or feel low, he plans the strategy to win accolades. Most importantly he lets his team enjoy the game rather than just chasing victory. Frequent reports about rumours Indian players and IPL keeps coming around and this man just keep calm & answers all those by his victories itself. Eventhough he hides his rigour and aggression inside that Grey beard, he is a man of leadership and courage. He is a very important force that took us to relish our 28 years dream of a word cup after “1983’s Cup of glory”. Thanks Dhoni for giving us the pleasure of watching SACHIN lifting the World cup.

Along with all these laurels & masterstrokes, the best part is as soon as he climbs to the podium to collest the trophy, he handovers the trophy to his Boys without even holding it for even a minute.. letting his team & his country to enjoy the victoy. This  makes Dhoni a master piece for captaincy and a massive night mare for other cricket team.

Make your own laptop a Wi-Fi hotspot

First of all be informed that this technique is a tricky one but possible. Most of the methods go awkward to set up and create a mess, ending up in nothing. I have tried almost a 50 methods but failed. Let me share with you about the technique with which i was able to access Wi-Fi using my laptop as a hotspot.

This is based on the Windows 7 feature called ‘Virtual Wi-Fi’ and thanks to Microsoft. This method just initialize your Operating system to create a Virtual router and then you can use it like how much ever adapters based on you need. All that you need now is a Laptop that runs on Windows 7, Wi-Fi enabled, Virtual router software, make sure the adapter drivers are all installed in your laptop and finally you need a device to access the Wi-Fi hotspot that you have created. All set? Lets go..

1. Click Windows Start button, type CMD, right-click the Cmd.exe link and select “Run as Administrator”.

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=MyNetwork key=MyPassword

In the above command attributes, MyNetwork is the network name and you can replace that with the name that you like to use. Also have the password of your choice by replacing MyPassword in the above command.

2. Press ENTER to create the virtual  network and establish the same in Hosted mode. The type the below command:

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

This command starts the virtual network and make it functionally ready to access.

3. Press ENTER and this starts up the Virtual adapter successfully in your Laptop. No confirmation message is displayed. No worries if you get no errors, else recheck the command and just the last command line again.

4. Click Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre > Change Adapter Settings, right-click your internet connection and select Properties. Click the Sharing tab, check the “Allow other network users to connect…..” option, select your virtual Wi-Fi adaptor – and you’re through!!

5. Launch the Virtual router 

Now turn ON the Wi-Fi option in Mobile, iPod, Tab, another Laptop / Computer and search for the Wi-Fi. You should be able to see the hosted network with the SSID you have created now. Select the same and check in with the password that you have created in command mode in Step 1. Access the hassle-free Wi-Fi connection and download your favorite Music, updated, etc on your Wi-Fi devices. 

It is obvious that you may face frequent network down or other hassles, the best way to get out of this is none other than restarting your machine and network. Just like the start up, have a proper closure and shut down. That makes your Browsing experience wonderful every time. For any intermittent issues, click on Refresh button that’s visible in Step 5 screenshot. Most wise option is to restrict the background date of unwanted apps in the mobile app list.

Have this Wi-Fi hotspot and stay updated in Apple, Android and RIM devices as every App is updated and its you who need to be in sync with it to stay updated. Thanks for reading, post your comments & experience, I would love to hear from you. 🙂
